Custom built clubs, from top quality components, cheap. I've been building clubs for decades now, on a very limited basis. When I was attending high school and college, I used to caddy, in the summer. The caddies were allowed to play the course on Mondays, so I was on the course seven days a week.
I started out with the typical beginner set: A plastic head driver and three wood, three, five, seven and nine iron, along with a two way putter. The first club I bought was a dual wedge. After that, I bought a laminated maple 4 wood.
After graduating collewge, I started sahopping for a new set of clubs. This was right at the beginning of the golf club component market. Not much to cgoose from, especially gor a lefty, and the designs were rather plain, but the quality was right up there with the commercial manufacturers.
